Elephant Herds: Amboseli is known for its large elephant populations, and during the dry season, herds gather around the swamps and permanent water sources. It's the best time to observe them up close.

Predators and their prey: Lions, cheetahs, and hyenas are more visible during this season as they hunt around water points where prey gathers. Zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, and impalas too can be spotted.

Mount Kilimanjaro: The dry season offers clear skies, providing the most spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro, creating iconic photo opportunities of wildlife with the majestic mountain in the background.

Resident birds: There are a variety of resident bird species such as the African fish eagle, kingfishers, and herons.

Camp Reviews

  • The personal touches and attention to detail was better than 5*. Staff are attentive and give a personal service to all guests and remember all the small details such as how we like our food and drinks.

The rooms are beautifully decorated and spacious. The showers are great and the beds are very big and comfortable. There is a fire pit which was nice to sit around in the evenings. All the small details made my stay really enjoyable.

This camp is a true hidden gem in Amboselli and an impressive, memorable experience.

  • We went there for a long weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We couldn't have chosen a better place: the staff was incredibly kind and supportive, the room and the camp is amazing, the pond in front of the dining lodge hosts many different animals that come to drink hunt in front of you: elephants, antílopes, hyenas, cheers, zebras, dikdik....
The room is big, will furnished, with a bathtub and all facilities, with you walls that allow you to wake up in front of the Kilimanjaro. Thank you for making our staying so special

  • We've been to some pretty amazing lodges over the years and Elephant Gorge Camp in Amboseli, Kenya, is one of those that I'll remember and hope to return to, The rooms are luxurious, the chef is very good and the staff are not just professional, but truly friendly and helpful. Nestling at the foot of Kilimanjaro we had a very good time. It takes some time to travel from the airstrip to the camp, but all in all, it was well worth the visit!
